Abstract Introduction Children with history of prematurity are at higher risk complications, comorbidities and iron deficiency, including restless legs syndrome periodic limb movements sleep (PLMS). In this study we assess the prevalence disorder PLMS in children prematurity. Methods Retrospective chart review studies aged 1-18 years, prematurity, from July 2021 to 2022 Seattle Children's Hospital. Only diagnostic without diagnosis a genetic or airway surgery were included. Results During study, 2,577 conducted, 162 (6%): 25 split titration (14%), 29 had syndromes (Down, Prader Willi, Wiedmann Beckmann, Achondroplasia), 4 tracheostomy studies, 6 infants < 12 months post intervention. Ninety-two included analysis. Median birth age was 31 weeks, interquartile range (IQR) 27-34 weeks. Thirty-two (34.8%) referred for 55 (59.8%) snoring; 18% index >5/hour, 14% fit criteria (RSD). There no statistically significant differences PSG parameters between RSD, remaining group, except lower obstructive apnea/hypopnea (Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA 8.621, p=0.0135) RSD group (median 0.7, IQR 0.3-0.9) than 1.7, 0.7-3.5), nonRSD/nonPLMS 2.0, 0.8-4.5). Altogether, those as an indication 70% cases while snoring only 26.7% them. Conclusion We have previously reported that Hospital Sleep Center is 7.7% 9.3%; new analysis found frequency elevated Premature among other complications comorbidities. These results confirm previous reports increased add knowledge on these Support (if any)

Periodic limb movement disorder of sleep in children.
To characterize periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) in a cohort of prepubertal children we examined sleep-related identifiable differences between children with PLMD and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), PLMD alone, and age-matched controls. Children were selected from a chart review of all children referred to a pediatric sleep medicine center and from a community survey of 5...
متن کاملRopinirole in restless legs syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder
Dopaminergic agents, particularly dopamine agonists, have been used with increasing frequency in the treatment of restless legs syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder. These evidence-based practice parameters are complementary to the Practice Parameters for the Treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome and Periodic Limb Movement Disorder, published in 1999. These practice parameters were develo...
متن کاملSecondary periodic limb movement disorder and restless legs syndrome.
Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD) and restless legs syndrome (RLS) are well-known entities from a clinical and polysomnographic point of view. PLMD and RLS are seen mostly as primary or hereditary diseases, but may occur in conjunction to other diseases such as uremia, polyneuropathy, Parkinson's disease, and deficiencies of iron and magnesium. This review will discuss the prevalence, etio...

Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD) are sleep disorders that are commonly seen in clinical practice. The standard treatment recommendations for these disorders are pharmacologic; most recently both conditions are most typically managed with pramipexole or ropinerole, which are FDA approved for the treatment of RLS. A mix of behavioral suggestions is included ...
